Retirement continues to suit our former rubbish collection ponies beautifully, and it’s such a joy to watch them settle more deeply into their new rhythm of life.
Mamba and Rainbow are both happy and healthy at Stud Horse Riding, enjoying the simple pleasures that come with being well cared for and loved. The weather has been especially wet lately, but neither of them seem to mind in the slightest. They happily stand for shampoo scrubs and still enjoy their walks — even in the rain — proving that a little mud doesn’t dampen their spirits.
Mamba remains the sweet, gentle character we’ve come to adore. He thrives on attention and soaks up every grooming session, never straying far when he suspects carrots may be involved. He continues to enjoy time in the paddock with his friends and approaches life with his usual calm, steady nature — even if the occasional playful moment leaves him with a minor scrape from his adventures.
Rainbow is continuing on his quiet journey of building trust and confidence. While he still appreciates a little extra patience, we’re seeing encouraging signs of progress. He’s becoming more comfortable with our presence and increasingly relaxed during his daily routine. Grooming sessions are improving so we’re hopeful that consistency and kindness will help him feel more secure over time.
We are incredibly proud of how both ponies have embraced their well-earned retirement — safe, cared for, and clearly content.
The recent terrible weather, combined with a very quiet low season, has unfortunately made earning an income extremely difficult. As a result, we are relying on donations more than ever right now to help us continue providing the level of care these ponies deserve. Your ongoing support truly makes a difference and allows Mamba and Rainbow to keep living the happy, secure lives they now enjoy.
