Challenge

According to a report published by UNICEF, Nigeria currently has 13.2 million out of school children, the highest figure in the world. The ravaging Corona-virus pandemic has even done worse to the statistics - which is already a concern- than good. A vast majority of children in hard to reach areas take the risk of covering longer distance to have access to education in communities where it is available. The lock-down global policy has almost cut out these children from access to education.

Solution

From our demographic survey, the remoteness of this community coupled with inadequate and ineffective teaching practices by the teaching staff has placed the education condition in moribund. As such, we are taking classroom education to them at their comfort zone. This we intend doing by engaging the services of certified and well trained teachers to the community to facilitate contemporary teaching skills for teachers in the community as well as supply education materials for sustainability.

Long-Term Impact

Through this project, we desire an outcome that will ensure that every child in the community has access to basic education for free. Engaging the community volunteers as teachers will ensure that the process is sustainable. Every child has a right to quality education and these children should not be left out. through the capacity building exercise for teachers and life skill training for the children, the standard of education in the community is expected to upgrade and without interruption.
