Puerto Rico, like the rest of the world, is facing the Covid-19 pandemic with limited resources due to the high incidence and speed with which it has spread. Our Island is already facing extreme situations with Hurricane Maria, the recent and still occurring earthquakes, and now facing this pandemic. We are supporting families affected by the covid19, directly and indirectly, providing health, food, and protective supplies to remote areas with a high percentage of poverty.
The high level of unemployment, commerce closings, and lack of education regarding the covid19 has directly affected communities with a high level of poverty in Puerto Rico. Their situation is serious in itself, and with the overwhelming impact of the pandemic adding to the earthquakes and what appears to be an active hurricane season prevents low-income heads of families from providing basic needs for their family.
By directly providing, hand in hand, medical equipment, protection items, food, and water, we eliminate concerns and needs for thousands of families assisted by Puerto Rico Rises around the entire island. There is no need to worry about how they will provide their families with first aid need supplies and can focus in other important areas on their daily living.
