Khayelitsha Students Sporting New Hooded Sweaters

I was in South Africa last week and am absolutely thrilled to share something special with you – a heartfelt thank you message from our Net Buddies!

Thanks to support from our GlobalGiving community, each of our teens now has their very own hooded sweater to keep them warm during South Africa's winter season. But these aren't just any sweaters – each one carries a motivational message on the back and “Infinite Family” on the left arm. The messasge, "Infinite Family Net Buddy, Invest in me - I do!" reminds our Net Buddies that our worldwide Infinite Family believes in and invests in them every day.

In this video, you'll see the genuine joy and gratitude in their faces as they model their new hooded sweaters. [Please click here to hear our Net Buddies' thank you directly.]

Winter in South Africa can be harsh – an unexpectedly strong snowstorm caused more than 100 deaths in the Eastern Cape during June. But thanks to your generosity, our Net Buddies are staying warm in body and spirit. Every time they put on their hooded sweaters, they're reminded that they're part of something bigger – a global family that cares about their success and wellbeing.

Our 12th graders (also called “Matrics” because they will soon take their end of high school Matric exams) are especially grateful. It is customary in South Africa for each to wear a special “Matric” jacket. Of course, “customary” in South Africa doesn't mean it happens in the township communities. None of our students were able to participate in this tradition. That is, until you delivered their hooded sweaters with “Matric 2025” on the right sleeve!

As our Net Buddies continue their educational journeys and work toward their goals, they'll carry with them not just the physical warmth of these sweaters, but the emotional warmth of knowing that caring individuals like you believe in them and their potential.

From all of us at Infinite Family, and especially from our grateful Net Buddies, thank you for making this winter a little warmer and a lot more inspiring!
