This project supports young girls in Nigerian communities at risk of teenage pregnancy and child marriage. Activities include school awareness programs, mentorship, peer support groups, life skills sessions, and parental engagement. Girls gain knowledge about reproductive health, rights, and self-confidence, helping them make informed decisions, stay in school, and delay early marriage.
Many girls in Nigeria face early marriage or pregnancy due to poverty, lack of access to education, and cultural pressures. Teenage pregnancy often leads to school dropout, health risks, and limited future opportunities. Without awareness, mentorship, or community support, girls remain vulnerable to exploitation and lose their chance for a safe and healthy adolescence.
The project provides school-based awareness sessions, mentorship, and peer group activities. Girls learn about reproductive health, life skills, and decision-making. Parents and community leaders are engaged to support girls' education and delay marriage. Peer groups offer a safe space for discussion, confidence building, and sharing experiences to reduce vulnerability.
Girls stay in school longer, gain knowledge of their rights, and delay early marriage and pregnancy. Communities become more aware of the risks and support girls' education. Mentorship and peer groups strengthen resilience, confidence, and self-esteem. Subsequently, fewer girls face early pregnancy or forced marriage, improving health, education, and future opportunities for young women.
