Summary

One of the major drivers of domestic abuse is lack of financial independence.Domestic abuse also leads to economic set backs resulting from controls, disability,depression. Through this project we hope to teach victims and survivors of domestic abuse certain skills that will enhance their confidence and financial independence. We shall be teaching 100 women ceramics, basic computer lessons, Arts and Crafts,,sewing, crafty cakes, and basic entprenuership skills over a period of one year.

Challenge

Violoence against Women is a major problem of our time. One of the major drivers of domestic abuse is lack of financial independence. Domestic abuse also leads to economic set backs resulting from controls, disability, depression. Through this project we hope to teach women, especially,victims and survivors of domestic abuse certain skills that will enhance their confidence and financial independence.

Solution

Teaching skills like arts and crafts, technology, financial management, ceramics etc women will be able to come together to share and address d problem of loneliness as well as gain new skills they can turn into business . Through the computer skills will enhance their entry into the labour market.

Long-Term Impact

It is our hope that with an improved financial stability, more women will be able to take positive decision for themselves and reduce the rate of violence and abuse in the community especially amon the minority ethnic group.If this happens, there will be less work for the police, the social welfare cwill have reduced rate of children reports, more women will be wmployed. The lifepsan of women will be increaessed, reduced rate of depression, and in theultimate a safer community.
