In Mexico, the incidence of pregnancies in girls aged 10 to 17 in Los Cabos is alarming. Baja California Sur has the highest rate of pregnancies, ranking this state as the top among Mexican states. Our Family Planning program aims to expand its Pregnancy Prevention workshops for children and adolescents to all possible regions of Baja California Sur. We have established a collaborative network with government agencies to implement our program in public schools in the poorest regions of Los Cabos, Baja California Sur.
On December 6th, the first school workshop, calendar 2023-2024 took place in collaboration with the Mexican Ministry of Health. The workshop reached more than 70 children, fifth and sixth-graders. Topics covered include Family Planning, Prevention of Sexually Transmitted Infections, and the Sexual and Reproductive Rights of Children. We offer free group and individual therapy, as well as guidance and referrals to government agencies that, under the law, oversee the rights of children and adolescents.
Dear donor, your contribution will help expand this program, ensuring that children and adolescents do not fall victim to abuse and suffer the consequences for the mother, the child, and the community. We greatly appreciate your contribution!
