Introduction: Since its inception in 1977 as a 200-bed community hospital for women and children, Fatima Memorial Hospital (FMH) has evolved into a 500+ bedded multi-specialty tertiary care teaching hospital. With a steadfast belief in service excellence and quality healthcare, FMH is dedicated to alleviating the suffering of humanity. Our core philosophy of cross-subsidization ensures that funds generated from paying patients benefit the underprivileged and indigent.
Our Commitment: FMH is committed to providing quality healthcare services to all patients, regardless of their ability to pay. Our hospital serves as a hub for patient care and a teaching base for human health resources, including FMH College of Medicine and Dentistry, FCPS, MCPS, MD & MRCGP training, and the Saida Waheed FMH College of Nursing. Additionally, FMH acts as a referral center for patients treated by our mobile health service.
The Kidney Disease Crisis: In Pakistan, the prevalence of chronic kidney disease (CKD) ranges from 12.5% to 31.2%, making it a significant public health issue. The incidence and prevalence of end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) have steadily increased over the last three decades. CKD not only impacts individual health but also contributes to the global burden of morbidity and mortality due to its effect on cardiovascular risk and ESKD. Projections indicate that by 2050, between 4.902 and 7.083 million people worldwide will require renal replacement treatment.

The Need for Support:
At FMH, most hemodialysis units are working at maximum capacity, yet many patients still struggle to find a permanent hemodialysis center due to non-availability of slots. Tragically, these patients often go from emergency to emergency in search of hemodialysis sessions, with some succumbing to their conditions.
