Liberia–Japan Pen Pal Program
Launch Report
The Liberia–Japan Pen Pal Program was successfully launched today, marking the official commencement of a cross-cultural exchange between young participants in Liberia and Japan. The launch event brought together program participants and representatives from both partner organizations to introduce the purpose, structure, and expected outcomes of the initiative.
During the session, the program objectives were clearly outlined, with emphasis on cultural exchange, communication skills, global friendship, and youth learning. The student pairing process was formally unveiled, and the Japan partner provided a detailed explanation of how the pairings were conducted to ensure fairness, shared interests, and effective communication. Participants were also guided on how the pen pal exchanges will function, including communication timelines and expected levels of engagement.
Overall, the launch was well received, with participants expressing excitement and readiness to actively take part in the program. The successful launch sets a strong foundation for continued collaboration between Liberia and Japan and for meaningful intercultural learning throughout the program period.
