Thank you, we're almost halfway there!

Dear JFMS familia!

Thank you for your continued support of Justice for My Sister! I'm elated to share that thanks to your generosity, are almost halfway towards our goal of raising $20,000 for the Production Assistant Training Program! We invite you to continue supporting us in spreading the word to ensure that we meet our goal and are able to provide emerging filmmakers of color with mentorship, professional opportunities, and more.

This new calendar year, Justice for My Sister has big plans in store. Just last night, we wraped up the second cohort of the BIPOC Sci-Fi Screenwriting Lab, where a joyful community of intentional writers built solidarity and nourished their work together, cheered each other on, improved their skills. They expressed what a life-changing opportunity the Lab was for them, and how important continued mentorship will be for them. Last week, we started winter sessions of our Filmmaking 101 classes with youth in Los Angeles County, a really fun youth leadership and enrichment program where participants get to explore their creativity and create collaborative videos! We are partnering with the Roy and Patricia Disney Family Foundation to produce a video series project for them in the coming weeks. We are excited to launch many more programs throughout the year – including the PA Certification Training Program, which our community is very excited about. Your support is making it possible for 30 emerging filmmakers of color to partake in a powerful job-training and job-placement program!

If you know of any filmmakers of color who would be interested in our resources, please have them email programs@justiceformysister.org.

We look forward to staying in touch with you!

With gratitude and appreciation,
Kimberly Bautista
