By R.BALU | DIRECTOR

Title of the Proposal/Project:

   “ To Promote Biodiversity and Green Environment Concepts to Rural People”

Vision:

Green environment and Ensuring environmental sustainability, ecological balance, protection of Agric land, animal welfare, agro forestry, conservation of natural resources and Maintaining quality of soil, air and water including contribution .

Background of the project / Problem Statement:

  • About two thirds of India’s population – 825 million people – depend on agriculture for their livelihoods. Rising food insecurity is caused by environmental degradation, pressure on land, and droughts and floods, which are becoming more common.
  • Only 30% of women are in the labour force. They receive just 62% of the average salary for a man. Finding a decent job is also a challenge for India’s large and growing youth population
  • Scholars since ancient time believe that the universe is made with the composition of five elements. All these five elements are present in the balanced state in this universe. For instance: if the level of water increases up to a certain limit, then the whole world will be filled with water resulting in floods. These five elements, Water, Air, Fire, Space and Earth. That all these five elements are essential for the existence of human life on earth.
  • These days most of us are aware of one single global phenomenon that is affecting our everyday life – Global Warming, and the accompanying environmental catastrophe that is waiting to happen. Our world is going to encounter in Global warming by Deforestation, Pollution and population Explosion. The effects are Drought, Land Heat, Disaster monsoon failure, condemnation of Air and water, Deflation of ozone layer, Acid  Rain, Health problems, Change in Water Cycle, Change in Carbon Cycle, Habitat destruction, Ecological disturbance, Sea level rise, Drought, Flood, Global Warming. Addition, In discriminate tree feeling Destruction of indigenous medicine, Government favoring construction at big dam which serve vested interest as well as created the new tourism places. Ecological in balance due to disruption in nature cycle, Biological parts Vs Displacement of peoples Land pollution, Apathy of peoples towards preserving the environment for the future generation.
  • Most of the target villages are Drought area and the nearest City in Tiruvannamalai and hilly places. Most of the people living in these villages are illiterates and living without sufficient Environmental and Traditional land Awareness. Especially, they don’t have the idea about the nature conservation and how to preserve the existing trees and agro and community forests, and why it is important for our proper survival. Due to this lackness, they simply cut the trees for their cook and others fuel purpose, It will create more pollution in these villages. Government also destroying the forests and natural resources in the name of national highway and Economic zone.  it is need an imperative need to create more awareness on forestry and its importance among the target people. The target area is populated with people lacking general literacy and financial literacy. Every month full moon day more than two to three lacks devotees gathering in city of Tiruvannamalai. At the time fourteen kilometer pilgrimage place is in polluting.

Activities:

1 Environmental Awareness Training in 10 Villages on Natural Resources.

2 Tree Planting in 10 Villages

3 ECO friendly club and Quiz competition in 10 schools.

4 Marathon rally around 14 km forest.

Program strategy:

* Organizing women groups and students eco clubs in each village.

*  People’s knowledge about their local forest and water resources

*  Relationship of people to their natural resource base..

*  Uses of seed links and green development through park

Themes to be covered:

  • Managing land or water in a way that protects or improves the environment.
  • Supporting public access to and enjoyment of the countryside, farmland
  • Woodland and better understanding of the environment;
  • Managing land or water in a way that maintains, restores or enhance
  • Cultural heritage or natural heritage;
  • Mitigating or adapting to climate change;
  • Preventing, reducing or protecting from environmental hazards;

Methodology:

  • We believe that nature friendly farming is not only better for nature, but is also the most productive and sustainable way of getting food from our land. We believe that the many farmers who are already playing an incredible role in helping Agric Land and forest land flourish on their farms should be better supported and rewarded for their good work.
  • Farmers will be encouraged to explore innovative ways of engaging the public, including through neighboring farmers acting together, engagement with the curriculum; Public engagement can also encourage new entrants into farming through engagement with the education system.
  • Public access will be encouraged including not just physical access to farms but also access to information. Citizens should be able to easily access information about the public money received by farmers in their area; their aims and objectives; the projects they are involved in; and what is expected of them in return for payments.
  • Awareness also will increase within the agriculture and rural sector .Results, successes and best practices examples should be shared within, and beyond, the field. This will help the industry be proud of its achievements, while also recognizing where there is room for improvement. This could also help people to be aware of what they are seeing on the ground.
  • The most receptive people will be selected from the target villages and will be provided with tree saplings. The provision will be selected from the most disadvantaged with reference to environmental needs. First step we distribute in 10 villages 17000 trees ( Distribute 10 per no’s x 1700 no’s = 17000 Tree saplings  ) will plant and each special beneficiary will be selected and asked to implement the tree planting project with reference to income generation. We distribute the saplings as they have space for .They will be nurturing not less than 20000 tree saplings per village.

Main Target Group:
