Play is a vital part of a child’s emotional, physical and cognitive development. It’s even more important for children who have endured trauma, homelessness, and abuse. We’re thrilled to celebrate the installation of a new playground to promote healthy psychosocial development, fitness, and fun at the children’s home.
Some facts from UNICEF about why play matters: "Often considered the early grades of primary school. Play-based learning continues to be critical, yet it is often neglected in favor of academic-focused education approaches. Yet, in this period, active, play-based learning approaches can transform the educational experiences of children in the early primary grades and strengthen learning motivation and outcomes." Our children work hard at school, and often attend after school tutoring. This means that relieving stress, achieving personal growth, and strengthening friendships through play is vital to balancing the stress of their academic lives!
A HUGE thank you to our donors for this contribution. We’ll be providing updates as construction continues! For now, we've attached construction photos!
