Many hands help make the load light! Amani believes in sharing challenges, learning opportunities, and strategies with the wider community. Last month, Amani Children's Home team representatives attended the Participatory Management of Children's Homes Conference in Arusha. The meeting brought together all social welfare officers responsible for children's homes in the Arusha region.
We worked to identify and address weaknesses observed in various children's homes. By adopting a participatory approach, stakeholders were encouraged to collaborate and provide insights to enhance the overall quality of services offered to the children. One big recommendation that emerged was to establish a dedicated first-aid room in each home. Our 2024 goals will include constructing a space that provides comprehensive & high-quality first aid services for needy children.
We're so excited to network with other children's homes in the area and strengthen our ties with organizations that advocate for children's rights across Tanzania. We believe that there's strength in numbers, and coming together is a vital step in forging new strategies and solutions within the social welfare system!
