Darley is 10 years old and lives in Sipi, Chocó, Colombia. During a fight between the Army and the ELN, when Darley was 3 years old, an explosive fell into his house. As a result of the injuries, his right leg had to be amputated above the knee.
Darley has been selected as a beneficiary of the childcare program of United for Colombia Foundation and has been receiving maintenance of his prosthesis since 2017. The past October, Darley received a new prosthesis based on his actual tallness and weight.
For Christmas, United for Colombia made possible Darley´s dream: have a bicycle to train to become a cyclist…he is on his path to make it true!
