This project will improve the Health & Menstrual Hygiene of women/girls by providing, a pad & a pant to 3000 vulnerable & traumatize IDPs in Kosala- Cameroon. This will reduce the rate of inffections related to poor menstral hygiene. Targeting 40 villages with no access to medical facilities.
The ongoing conflict affecting the North West & South West Regions in Cameroon for over 6 years has sent many people fleeing from one area to another, some accross the boarders into Nigeria, finding refuge to safe areas such as Kumba, & others in bushes & difficult to reach areas. Most of these people are women & children. HUFAC-Cameroon will be providing a pad & a pant to women/girls to help their health, reduce the rate of inffections due to poor menstrual hygiene & related issues.
We will educate these women/girls on menstrual hygiene management as well as how to identify good and bad sanitation kits available in the market. We will equally train them to produce hand made or locally made sanitation pads with local materials, reusable, cheep & affordable.
The project will educate 3000 young girls & women in 40 villages in Kumba-Cameroon & environes on menstrual health management. We will equally train & empower them with skills to poduce locally made cheep & affordable sanitary pads. This will reduce cost and save money for other needs, which will benefit their community's economy.
