Every year, an estimated 1.2 million children worldwide are trafficked, with many forced into labor or exploitation. Nigeria remains a source, transit, and destination country, with thousands of children at risk due to poverty, displacement, and weak protection systems. This project will provide rescue support, shelter, medical care, legal aid, and rehabilitation services for children who have been trafficked or are at high risk. Immediate action is needed to protect lives and futures.
Child trafficking in Nigeria is driven by poverty, lack of education, and weak protection systems. Thousands of children are forced into domestic labor, street hawking, sexual exploitation, and dangerous work conditions. Displaced children and orphans are especially targeted, as traffickers exploit their vulnerability. Many survivors suffer trauma, loss of education, and long-term health problems, leaving them trapped in cycles of abuse and poverty.
This project will rescue children from trafficking networks and place them in safe shelters. Survivors will receive medical care, trauma counseling, and access to education. Legal aid will be provided to pursue justice, while vocational training will equip older children with livelihood skills. Community awareness programs will also help families recognize trafficking risks and protect their children from falling victim again.
Rescued children will have a chance to rebuild their lives in safety, with restored health, education, and skills for independence. Families will be better informed to prevent future trafficking. Legal interventions will hold perpetrators accountable, discouraging others from exploiting children. With sustained care and reintegration support, survivors can break free from cycles of exploitation and contribute positively to their communities.
