Girls born to sex workers in Nigeria face a high risk of being trafficked due to poverty, lack of education, and social stigma. This project will provide 100 adolescent girls in red-light areas with school supplies, daily meals, vocational training, and safe spaces for learning. The goal is to keep them off the streets and give them safer choices.
Girls born to sex workers are often left without guidance, protection, or access to education. Many drop out of school early and become targets for traffickers who exploit their situation. They are trapped in a cycle of poverty, abuse, and fear, with very few options for safety or support.
The project will provide safe daily activities, basic education, meals, and hands-on training for 100 girls. It will keep them off the streets and away from exploiters. Trusted female mentors will teach them life skills and offer help when they face abuse or danger. This will give the girls structure, stability, and safer alternatives.
With time, these girls will be more likely to stay in school or learn a trade. They will avoid trafficking and early abuse. The project will help reduce the number of girls entering sex work and will give mothers in red-light areas better options for their daughters. It could also inspire similar efforts in other regions.
