Trafficking Threatens Girls in Red-Light Areas

By Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

Thank you for your generous support of the Protect Daughters of Sex Workers from Trafficking project. Your kindness is helping create safer opportunities for girls who face some of the highest risks of exploitation, abuse, and school dropout.

We are pleased to share that, following extensive consultations, due diligence, and community assessments, preparations for the first phase of the project have been completed. After carefully reviewing the needs of potential beneficiaries and identifying priority locations, we are happy to announce that implementation is scheduled to begin during the first week of July 2026.

The support received so far has allowed us to move from planning to the implementation stage. Our team has been working to identify girls facing the greatest risks and to establish the structures needed to provide educational support, daily meals, mentorship, vocational opportunities, and safe learning spaces.

Many of the girls targeted by this project grow up in environments where poverty, stigma, and lack of educational opportunities increase their vulnerability to trafficking and exploitation. Early intervention can help create safer pathways and provide alternatives that support their growth and development.

While we are excited to begin the first phase, additional support remains necessary to expand the number of girls we can reach and to sustain activities throughout the project period. The need within these communities remains far greater than the resources currently available.

In our next report, we hope to share photographs, activities from the launch phase, and updates on the first group of beneficiaries participating in the program.

Thank you once again for believing in these girls and for helping create opportunities that can change the direction of their lives. Your generosity is making this important work possible.

Warm regards,

Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
