A Special Appeal for Displaced Persons with Disabilities in Benue State
Every humanitarian crisis reveals vulnerabilities that are not always visible in headlines.
In Benue State, continuing conflict has forced families from their homes, farms, livelihoods, and communities.
But for persons with disabilities, displacement can create additional challenges that are too often overlooked.
During our recent field visit to Daudu Community in Guma Local Government Area, GoGreen met 64 displaced people with disabilities.
Their situation reminds us why humanitarian assistance must be inclusive.
A food package has little value if someone cannot access the distribution point.
A relief programme cannot fully achieve its purpose if those with the greatest access barriers are excluded.
And a humanitarian response cannot be considered complete while vulnerable people remain unable to meet their most basic needs.
Through our Feed Displaced Families in Benue, Nigeria project, we are working to provide food assistance and essential household support to vulnerable displaced families.
With additional funding, we hope to strengthen accessible distribution arrangements and reach more persons with disabilities who may otherwise struggle to obtain assistance.
No one should be forgotten because they cannot walk to a distribution point.
No one should face hunger because their disability creates barriers to receiving support.
And no family should have to endure displacement without compassion and assistance.
Please help us build a humanitarian response that reaches everyone, including those who are too often left behind.
Your donation can help make that possible.
