Help protect vulnerable youth and prevent HIV/AIDS in Nigeria through life-saving long-acting PrEP. This project will provide twice-yearly Lenacapavir injections to 6,500 at-risk youth, especially adolescent girls facing gender-based vulnerabilities. This twice-yearly HIV prevention injections remove daily pill barriers, reduce stigma, and improve protection. Your support will fund HIV testing, counseling, and community health outreach to save lives and stop new infections in underserved areas.
Nigeria carries a high HIV burden, with thousands of vulnerable youth-especially adolescent girls, young women (AGYW), and LGBTQIA+ at risk of infection. Many cannot access consistent healthcare or sustain daily oral PrEP HIV prevention due to stigma, poverty, and unsafe environments. Gender-based violence and inequality increase their risk. Without urgent support for HIV prevention, awareness, and youth-focused healthcare services, new infections will continue to rise in underserved communities
This HIV prevention programs will deliver twice-yearly Lenacapavir injections as long-acting PrEP to 6,500 adolescent girls & young women (AGYW), and LGBTQIA+ in Nigeria. The program will offer more services, including HIV testing and counseling, clinical screening, retention monitoring, and peer-led youth-focused community health outreach. By offering a discreet HIV prevention injection, we will improve adherence, protect adolescent girls, and expand preventive healthcare innovation in Nigeria.
Our goal is to reduce new HIV infections among adolescents girls & young women (AGYW), and LGBTQIA+ by promoting and scaling to the full adoption of this long-acting PrEP injection (Lenacapavir) across Nigeria. We will integrate Lenacapavir into youth-friendly public health systems, train providers, strengthen peer networks, and advance sustainable health systems aligned with SDG 3 Good Health and SDG 5 Gender Equality. This scalable HIV prevention Nigeria model will protect future generations.
