Dear Donors,
CAMELEON supports young girls survivors of sexual violence in the Philippines by providing them with a safe and supportive environment where they can heal, recover and, rebuild their lives. The program offers holistic support, including psychological, legal, educational assistance and therapeutic activities such as animal-assisted therapy, sports and circus.
The summer months have brought significant milestones to our program:
In June, 14 girls were successfully reintegrated back into their communities. They were either reunited with their families, placed in boarding houses for independent living, or accommodated in the CAMELEON dormitory if they were still minors without family support.
In August, the CAMELEON Social Circus continued in partner schools in Iloilo, reaching more than 200 participants, including children, students, youth, and adults. Led by the empowered Cirquera de CAMELEON and Youth Advocates, this innovative approach raises awareness on child sexual abuse, online exploitation, children’s rights, and reproductive health. The circus remains a powerful medium to amplify advocacy and education within the community.
In September, a Health Day Celebration was held at the Silay Center, serving beneficiaries from the In-House, Aftercare, and Community Development programs. In a local partnership with ARC-Bacolod, the event provided medical aid and free consultations to both beneficiaries and staff, ensuring access to quality healthcare services.
This summer also marked the admission of new beneficiaries to the program. Since June, 23 girls have joined the CAMELEON centers, 15 in Passi and 8 in Silay, allowing us to provide holistic interventions that support their healing, recovery, and personal growth.
These milestones reflect our ongoing commitment to providing holistic care, empowerment, and protection to the children and youth we serve.
Your generosity continues to make these transformative journeys possible.
With gratitude,
CAMELEON Association
