A New Chapter: 16 Girls Transition to Aftercare | June 2026
11 girls from CAMELEON’s In-House Program in Passi and five girls from Silay, marked their transition to the Aftercare Program through a Send-Off Ceremony. This milestone signals the start of life beyond the centers, with continued care and guidance. Depending on their safety and individual circumstances, the girls return to their biological families, move into boarding houses or CAMELEON dormitories. Each transition is coordinated closely with local social workers to support their gradual adjustment to community life.
Leaving the center does not mean leaving support behind. Through its partnership with local social services, CAMELEON continues to provide holistic care, helping each girl navigate this new chapter and work toward greater independence.
Back to School: Moving Toward Brighter Futures
For the school year 2026–2027, 130 girls across CAMELEON’s In-House and Aftercare programs are enrolled in school and training.
At Passi Center, 36 girls are enrolled: 4 in elementary, 15 in junior high school, and 17 in senior high school. At Silay Center, 22 girls are pursuing their education: 3 in elementary, 10 in junior high school, 6 in senior high school, 2 in Special Education (SPED) high school, and 1 in a vocational housekeeping course.
Under Aftercare–Negros, 27 girls are enrolled: 2 in elementary, 6 in junior high school, 1 in SPED junior high school, 4 in senior high school, 11 in college, and 3 in vocational courses. Meanwhile, Aftercare–Iloilo supports 45 girls: 9 in junior high school, 6 in senior high school, 25 in college, 2 in vocational courses, and 3 in SPED.
Behind every enrollment is a girl with her own strengths, needs, and dreams. Through tutorial sessions, academic guidance, and assistance with educational needs, CAMELEON helps each girl stay engaged in learning and take meaningful steps toward greater independence.
Caring for Girls’ Health and Well-Being
CAMELEON continues to support the girls’ physical and mental well-being through medical care, vaccinations, dental services, and psychological support. In Aftercare–Iloilo, two girls received assistance with health check-ups, while seven received psychiatric medication. At the Silay In-House Center, support included one health check-up and one psychological session. Twenty-two girls also received flu vaccinations, and one girl received her first dose of the Hepatitis B vaccine in July.
At the Passi In-House Center, CAMELEON assisted with 10 health check-ups, while six girls received dental check-ups and services. The CAMELEON Health Nurse administered the first dose of the Hepatitis B vaccine to 13 girls in July, and 13 girls also received their second dose.
Through these services, CAMELEON helps ensure that the girls receive the care they need to stay healthy, participate in school, and continue their journey toward greater independence.
Thank you for your continued support. Your generosity continues to make these transformative journeys possible.
