Monthly Report: Protect Sri Lanka's Street Dogs: Rescue & Rehome  – #68774
Project Title: Protect Sri Lanka's Street Dogs: Rescue & Rehome
Reporting Month: June – July

1. Introduction
During this reporting period, our team at Save a Life continued our commitment to improving the welfare of street dogs across Sri Lanka. However, due to financial constraints, we were unable to implement any rescue or rehoming activities during the months of June to July.
Despite these limitations, we remained engaged with local communities, assessed current needs, and planned future steps to resume operations once sufficient funding is available.

2. Current Status
While no on-ground interventions were carried out this quarter, the need for rescue, medical care, and rehoming of street dogs remains urgent. Many street dogs continue to face starvation, injury, illness, and abuse. Our team has received multiple calls and requests for assistance from concerned citizens and volunteers across various districts. Unfortunately, the lack of operational funds has restricted our ability to respond.

3. Challenges Faced
Lack of Funding: The primary challenge during this period was insufficient financial support. Without adequate funding, we could not cover essential costs such as medical supplies, veterinary services, transportation, food, and shelter maintenance for rescued dogs.
Growing Demand, Limited Resources:The number of street dog cases reported to us has been steadily increasing. With
limited resources, we were unable to respond to these cases, leaving many animals in vulnerable conditions.
Operational Stagnation: In the absence of ongoing activities, maintaining volunteer momentum and partnerships with local service providers has been difficult. However, we are working to sustain communication with our network to ensure readiness once funding resumes.

4. Plans for Next

Fundraising Campaigns: We plan to launch new fundraising efforts through GlobalGiving and local platforms to secure the necessary funds for field activities.
Strengthen Local Partnerships: Engage with local veterinarians, shelters, and volunteers to develop a scalable action plan for when funding becomes available.
Awareness and Advocacy: Continue raising awareness on social media and through community channels to highlight the needs of Sri Lanka's street dogs and encourage donor support.

6. Thank You
We are sincerely grateful to GlobalGiving and our supporters for believing in our mission. Although this quarter was challenging due to a lack of funds, your continued interest gives us hope. With your support, we aim to restart our rescue and rehoming efforts in the coming months and bring safety, care, and dignity to Sri Lanka’s vulnerable street dogs. Thank you for
being part of this journey.
