Summary

Our non-government funded company here in Chile is going through very hard times. We have faced natural disasters such as, large forest fires, tornadoes, as well as devastating earthquake in 2010. These tragedies left our fire station with a uniform deficit to carry out fire tasks and rescue, which are the core of our activities and work. Your help means that we can have new uniforms and continue fighting natural emergencies and saving lives, so we can help others while protecting ourselves.

Challenge

Uniform deficit to carry out fire tasks and rescue is making our labor very difficult. Our firefighting station has no government funding, and firefighters work as volunteers for no money at all. They cannot afford their uniforms, because they have no resources. The NFPA-1001 requieres standardized and certified uniforms specifically designed for the work of the fire fighting, and in the absence of the requirements, the firefighter will be eliminated of the benefits provided by any insurance.

Solution

With the support of this project, personal protective equipment intended for fire, vehicle, and natural disasters emergencies will be acquired. We will be regulated and certified under the international standards meeting the following requirements; Fireproof, Heat and Flame Resistant. Anti static. High visibility on 360 roads. Waterproof, breathable and breathable. Have a chemical and biological barrier. Firefighters will also be covered with insurance in case of accident.

Long-Term Impact

The project will benefit around 100.000 people who live in the community. This City called Talcahuano, will have their firefighter department under regulation and ready to be helped in any disaster situation. If we have emergencies such as those caused by climate change, we will be prepared and in order to protect and help them. Summer which is known by many forest fires will also be well addressed in case of emergency situations. We will be able to use the uniforms for at least 5 years.
