Rescued Pangolin

This Pangolin Protection Programme is still very new with it only being one year old. However within the last year, thanks to our supporters, the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation, Uganda Wildlife Authority and Uganda Conservation Foundation have achieved:

A one page policy statement that defines Pangolin Conservation in Uganda
Worked with a very experienced Pangolin Foundation and with their knowledge and best practices we have developed and agreed standard operating procedures for Uganda Wildlife Authority and other governmental agencies and organisations involved in arrest procedures and rescue operations that result in confiscation of pangolin products.
Locations of a minimum of two release zones and are currently working with other experts to assure the survival of the animals once released back into the wild.

As we speak we are currently training up key rangers on pangolin identification, handling techniques, heath assessments and rescue and release.

However since September we have successfully rescued 9 Pangolins, using rescue kits and equipment funded by you.
