You Helped Neo!

By Paula Lucas | Founder

Neo was being abused by Kate's boyfriend in Albania. He would abuse Neo to punish Kate for things as simple as forgetting something from the grocery store.

He would pick Neo up and slowly start strangling him, telling Kate she was next. Neo could usually escape but he was very traumatized. Kate had no idea when she met him the year before that he was so cruel and mean.

Kate didn't want to return to the USA as she had a very good job in Albania.

We were able to create a safety plan with Kate, help her understand how to get a protection order, keep her technology safe including finding any tracking devices her abuser used to know her whereabouts and spyware. She secured an apartment in a different part of the city and snuck away with Neo one night when her abuser was sleeping. She is working remotely for a while to help Neo adjust to his new home.

Kate and Neo are settled into their new place safely away from their abuser. Neo is still recovering but Kate is seeing improvements all the time. He is playing more but still spends a lot of time cuddled up in his favorite blanket.

We're sure Neo is puuurrrfectly happy in his new home thanks to donors like you.

Thank you so much!
