Thank you for choosing to protect tigers in their natural habitat. You are helping our ground-based conservation partners across Asia adapt to the new challenges they are facing because of the pandemic.
COVID-19 has left a lot of people unemployed, meaning that struggling communities who live in tiger habitats, may be tempted to the forest for easy prey.
In this regard, rangers continued to patrol in an enhanced mode. In just six months, 176 violations were revealed at five project sites, including trespassing and illegal hunting.
Thanks to your support, we have been able to maintain anti-poaching efforts. Intense patrols by law enforcement teams discouraged poachers from illegal access to national parks and nature reserves, and that has prevented a spike in illegal hunting.
