Dear Donors,
Thank you to everyone who has supported the Provide 10,000 Bed Nets to Reduce Malaria in Douala project so far. We are grateful for the trust and concern shown toward families facing daily malaria risk in Cameroon.
Malaria remains one of the leading causes of illness and death in Douala, especially among children under five and pregnant women. Many low-income households sleep without insecticide-treated bed nets or use torn, worn-out ones that no longer protect them from mosquito bites. This leaves families exposed night after night, leading to repeated infections, medical expenses, missed school days, and preventable deaths.
This project plans to distribute 10,000 long-lasting insecticide-treated bed nets to households in high-risk neighborhoods across Douala. Each net is designed to protect families while they sleep, which is when most malaria transmission occurs. Distribution will be paired with simple guidance on correct use and care so households can benefit fully from the nets provided.
Although donations have been received, the amount available at this time will not be able to kick start the project. More support is needed to purchase the nets, organize community distribution, and reach the families most at risk.
We kindly appeal for additional support so this project can move forward and protect thousands of lives from malaria.
Sincerely,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
