Many women and girls with physical disabilities in rural and low-income areas lack access to wheelchairs. Without them, they face daily struggles to move, attend school, visit clinics, or take part in community life. This project will provide 200 durable wheelchairs to women and girls who need them most. Donations will cover the cost of buying, assembling, and delivering the wheelchairs to their locations.
Many disabled women and girls are unable to move freely due to lack of mobility aids. They are often carried by others or remain indoors, missing out on education, health care, and daily activities. Public programs rarely reach them, and wheelchairs are too costly for most families. Without mobility, they face isolation and poor health.
This project will supply 200 wheelchairs to women and girls living with disabilities. Each wheelchair will be selected to fit the terrain and user needs. Staff will identify recipients, assemble the devices, and deliver them with simple use guides. Some beneficiaries will also receive support to access clinics or school after receiving their wheelchair.
The wheelchairs will help users regain freedom of movement, attend school, go to health centers, and take part in daily life. With less dependence on others, girls and women may gain more confidence and become more active in their communities. The project may also raise awareness on the need for inclusive services in rural and low-income areas.
