Did you know that mosquitoes are more than just a pest?
You probably know that far too many people die from malaria each year. Did you also know that it by far is the "biggest killer". The included photo (Credit WHO, etc) helps us visualize the magnitude of this silent killer. Malaria is responsible for over 700,000 deaths annually, year after year. That is huge. Clearly, this is an area that merits serious attention and action.
This is why Mariama, one of our beneficiaries was happy to receive a treated mosquito bed net. Mariama lives in an area where drainage is very poor. As a result there are a lot of mosquitoes in her community. She has been complaining of very long nights with little sleep - due to mosquito bites.
Receiving the bed net that you provided brought smiles to Mariama's face - because now she knows her sleep will be sweet. She now know she is safe frm pesky bites and malaria. She is very grateful for the net and extends her appreciation to YOU! Currently Mariama is awaiting the return of normalcy so she can retake the WAEC African Secondary School Certificate Examination.
Your support enables us to continue to bring sound sleep, safety and the gift of a normal, long life to hundreds of beneficiaries in Sierra Leone. Thanks to YOU, we are continue to provide this life-preserving resource. Simple and effective.
Thanks so much for helping us making malaria history in one more life. Mariama's.
