Provide Villages with Clean Water in Rural Uganda

Dear Belovedd Friend,

For years, the village of Kisia woke before sunrise to begin a daily struggle-walking miles in search of water. Mothers carried heavy jerrycans, children missed school, and the only available sources were often unsafe. Illness was common, and hope felt distant.

Then, change came.

Through the efforts of Development Alert and the support of compassionate partners, clean water points were established across the community. What began with drilling a single borehole soon expanded into a network of safe water sources, reaching neighboring villages.

Today, over 5,000 people have access to clean and reliable water.

The transformation is visible everywhere. Children now arrive at school on time, their energy focused on learning instead of long, exhausting walks. Families drink safely, and cases of waterborne diseases have dropped. Women have more time to work, care for their families, and participate in community life.

At the center of the village, laughter echoes around the borehole—once a symbol of struggle, now a place of life and connection.

Clean water did more than quench thirst. It restored dignity, improved health, and opened new possibilities.

And for Kisia and thousands like it, the journey has only just begun.

To expand our impact, Development Alert is launching an initiative to drill 13 new community boreholes, bringing safe and reliable water closer to thousands more people. This effort will further strengthen resilience, reduce health risks, and support long-term development.
