Dear Friend,
On behalf of all our staff and patients, thank you for your generous giving to Partners In Health! We are so grateful for your partnership.
Across Haiti, thousands of children under the age of five continue to face the threat of malnutrition. Ongoing violence and unrest in the country have only exacerbated this issue. Zanmi Lasante (ZL), as PIH is known in Haiti, is committed to strengthening community health systems and equipping health workers with the tools to prevent nutrition crises and save lives.
Recently, from October 21 to 24, ZL organized a workshop in partnership with UNICEF and the Ministry of Public Health and Population. The workshop brought together departmental health authorities, program managers, and nutrition officers from several regions in Haiti. Collaborative training sessions combined technical analysis and practical application.
During the workshop, the Central Health Directorate presented on the performance of the nutrition sites for 2023, 2024, and January to September 2025. The analysis highlighted progress and identified performance gaps. Participants then developed concrete, realistic solutions to address challenges facing the Nutrition Program.
This workshop was action-oriented, and all participants left with a clear goal: to ensure that every child, mother and family, wherever they live, has access to adequate nutrition and quality care.
This commitment reflects PIH’s larger vision. Our theory of change, honed over more than three decades of serving marginalized communities in Haiti, transcends conventional health care delivery. We tackle the underlying social determinants of health, including poverty, limited education, and inadequate infrastructure. Each training, each home visit, and each piece of data collected contributes to consolidating this mission.
Your giving proves transformative for children in Haiti. Thank you for partnering with us in this essential work.
With gratitude,
Partners In Health
