This twelve months (12) project of advance water service to increase safe and clean water will start on October 2019 to September 2020, and will implement by SUWODE Biharamulo sub office along with improving water service delivery also the project aims build capacity of the intended project team (Community Own Water Supply Organization) on good management system provides adequate skills improve effectively and efficiently, there is a need having strongly community water entity to run communities
The water availability in Ntungamo and Kabale villages collected from the surface run-off and is at high risk of being polluted that making it of very poor quality for human consumption. Generally is exacerbated by unsafe water handling practice along the water chain, either from water source to their home or storage equipment, mostly rural communities engaged in pastoralist and farming and no clear separation for water for human consumption and for animal uses as well as for farming work,
The Project seeks to improve water facilities and advance security, management as well social accountability of the project as well as improve water, sanitation and hygiene to the communities without appropriate WASH facilities and through capacity development, improvement of WASH service delivery facilitate communities to shape Community Owned Water Supply Organization and strongly capacitate on good governance for project sustainability and also make possible COWSO on registration process,
For the aspect of program sustainability, SUWODE will offer opportunity of dynamic participation to media/journalist, poor community, local government leaders, and wards executive officers as well as influential people/religious leaders in targeted ward. Also subsequent to completion of the project implementation, Biharamulo District council through department of water, health, Community development and social welfare plus District planning officer will be accountable to supervise daily activity
