Five years ago, “Alisha” lost both of her hands in an electrical shock accident.
Her sudden disability was a difficult adjustment – especially at school, where she needed a writer to complete her assignments and examinations. The extra help was not only stressful for a bright and independent young woman like Alisha, but also expensive for her struggling family. Discouraged, Alisha took a break from her studies for two years.
With NYF’s Disabled Student Scholarship now taking care of her school expenses, Alisha is thriving in school. Her scholarship keeps her positive, and continues to motivate her to strive for more.
Your support helps to keep bright students like Alisha in school – thank you so much!
