Dear project supporters,
Many families in Sierra Leone were displaced due to the flooding and mudslide disaster that took place on August 14, 2017. We are deeply grateful for your on-going support that is enabling us to continue to bring hope to flood victims in Freetown. One of the ways your support helped recently was giving educational support to 30 children that live in the areas affected by the floods last year. You can see more photos of students receiving support in our photo album.
Three different communities in mudslide affected areas were given educational support: in the Pentagon community, 15 students were supported, in the Kanigo Community, 10 children received support and in the Regent community, 5 children received support. These students were given school materials like exercise books, pens, pencils, crayons, solar lights, mosquito nets and one year of their tuition fees paid. The students and families were very thankful for the support.
Recovery will continue to be a long-term process. In the coming months, more students and families will need our support. Thank you for your continued support of these families.
