Dear friends,

As Morgan, our last animal manager, has come to the end of her journey at DAKTARI, we welcome José, originally from the Canary Islands, to take over from her.

Since his arrival, our dedicated team at the wildlife sanctuary has been actively engaged in various initiatives to enhance the well-being of our animal residents and improve their living conditions. Let's take a closer look at some of the projects we've completed and what lies ahead in our mission to protect and care for these amazing creatures.

Some of our projects since our last report:

Development of our enrichment program:

Our enrichment program commenced with great enthusiasm, benefiting a diverse array of animals, including our cheetah, ostriches, lions, owls... We ensured that every animal in our care experienced at least one enriching activity per week. Through carefully curated programs that stimulate their natural instincts, we observed positive changes in the animals' behaviors, promoting their mental and physical health.

Enclosures Development:

The welfare of our animal residents has always been at the heart of our efforts. Consequently, we successfully developed enriching enclosures for our eagles, mongooses, meerkats, and female rabbits, by adding new shelters and wood constructions.

What we plan to do:

Improving Caracal, Servale and owls Enclosure:

Looking ahead, we're determined to make life even better for our caracal, serval and owls. By improving their enclosures, we'll create an environment closer to their natural habitat, giving them more space to roam and freely express their innate behaviors.

Thank you for your continued contributions which means the world to us!
