Here's an update of some things that have happened at Connie's Home since our first project listing on GlobalGiving back in November. See the photo of the younger children eating Christmas cookies. The cookies were brought by one of our former staff members. She was arrested as a teenager for carrying drugs, came to work with us from the Juvenile Detention Center while finishing her sentence, and completed university while working night shift at Connie's Home. She is now a translator for a small business that has a lot of English-speaking customers.
The older children are pictured admiring the huge Christmas tree at a nearby shopping mall. In another photo you can see they decorated their own Valentine's Day cookies.
These special activities are possible because of your generous support. The most special activity we are involved in is seeing children placed with their forever families. We just had our first adoption since the COVID-19 virus shut down adoptions in Thailand. It's always a bitter-sweet experience when we say goodbye to one the kids (see photo) but we know that the joy of the new family exceeds the sorrow that we experience.
Thanks for helping the children thrive while waiting for their new parents.
