Restoring Hope Through Play and Connection

At the HUG Project, we understand that healing from trauma requires more than legal intervention—it requires emotional connection, safe spaces, and the opportunity for children to experience joy again. Under our Restore mission, we organized a therapeutic Adventure Play Day for child survivors currently residing in protective shelters. These children, previously supported by HUG and referred for long-term care, were invited to participate in a special day designed to promote healing through fun, relaxation, and social bonding.

Set in a natural, calming environment, the day was filled with laughter, games, and meaningful connection. The children enjoyed swimming, amusement park rides, and interactive games like board games and team activities. Shared meals provided comfort and a sense of normalcy, while small gift bags served as tokens of encouragement and care.

One of the most impactful components of the day was a group sharing circle, where children talked about positive memories, personal challenges, and dreams for the future—including hopes for education and support. Counseling and one-on-one support were also available to ensure each child felt seen and heard.

This joyful, adventure-filled day not only helped relieve stress and build confidence, but also promoted age-appropriate development, emotional resilience, and peer bonding. Importantly, it strengthened the trust between children and caregivers—ensuring they feel emotionally and physically safe during their time in care.

Thank you for standing with us. Your support through GlobalGiving allows us to continue offering hope, healing, and happiness to children who need it most.
