In Nigeria, many older adults live with chronic illnesses but cannot afford medical care. Over 10.2 million seniors lack access to clinics, medications, and routine health checks, increasing the risk of untreated conditions and preventable deaths. This project provides free medical consultations, screenings, and medications to older adults, ensuring early detection and treatment. Immediate support is needed to reduce suffering, improve health outcomes, and give seniors the care they deserve.
Many older adults in Nigeria face poverty and limited access to healthcare. Chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and arthritis often go untreated due to high costs of consultations, tests, and medications. Rural seniors have to travel long distances to clinics, while urban poor may skip care due to expenses. Lack of treatment leads to severe illness, hospitalization, and premature death, affecting families and communities that rely on their guidance and support.
The project will provide free medical care, including consultations, screenings, lab tests, and essential medications, to 2,000 older adults. Mobile clinics and health camps will reach seniors in both urban and rural areas. Follow-up care and referrals to hospitals for serious cases will be arranged. By removing financial and logistical barriers, older adults can manage chronic conditions, prevent complications, and maintain their independence and quality of life.
Regular access to healthcare will reduce severe illness, prevent hospitalizations, and improve overall health among older adults. Healthy seniors can continue to contribute to families and communities, supporting younger generations. Families benefit from reduced medical costs and stress. The project also raises awareness about older adults' health needs and encourages early treatment.
