Northern Nigeria has thousands of children living on the streets, facing hunger, illness, and exposure to abuse. This project will deliver nutritious meals and small gifts to 1,500 street children, offering immediate relief and a sense of care. Each child will receive food, hygiene kits, and educational supplies to support daily survival and learning. Immediate intervention is needed, especially during harsh seasons, to prevent malnutrition, improve health, and provide hope to children.
Thousands of children in Northern Nigeria live on the streets without access to proper nutrition, hygiene, or safe shelter. Many scavenge for food daily, are at risk of illness, exploitation, and violence, and cannot attend school. Families in extreme poverty often cannot provide basic needs. Without urgent support, street children face severe malnutrition, increased vulnerability to disease, and continued social exclusion, reducing their chances for a safer and healthier future.
This project delivers meals, hygiene kits, and small educational gifts directly to 1,500 street children. Volunteers distribute food in safe locations, monitor children's health, and provide hygiene items to prevent illness. The gifts and learning materials also encourage engagement in education and social interaction. By meeting immediate needs, the project reduces hunger, supports basic health, and provides a sense of safety and care, helping children survive while creating opportunities.
Providing regular meals and basic care improves the health and well-being of street children, reducing malnutrition and disease. Children who receive food and educational supplies are more likely to engage in learning programs and community activities & can reintegrate into schools or family environments. The project also raises awareness of street children's needs, helping communities and organizations build longer-term support networks to reduce the number of children living on the streets.
