When Kelsey emailed Pathways in March she was desperate to escape her abusive husband in France and flee back home to the USA with her son Toban.
Kelsey had tried everything to make her marriage work but her husband's abuse increased from verbal insults to screaming to pushing & shoving her. Small things like forgetting to pickup drycleaning could mean a night of violence for Kelsey.
We worked with Kelsey on a safety plan and a timeline for her escape and the various steps she must take to reach the USA safely. Her escape was further complicated by the current covid-19 travel restrictions.
After six weeks Kelsey successfully arrived in the USA with Toban. She is currently living in a domestic violence shelter as she re-establishes her life back home with Toban.
The valuable donations we receive for this project enable battered American women & their children like Kelsey & Toban to return to the USA to safety.
