Each year The Sunshine Charity organises ‘Market Day’ when kids are provided the opportunity to sell their home-grown vegetables, home-made snacks and drinks and other enjoyable items. Held at the Sunshine preschool compound, the fun event inspired by parents and staff, encourages the children to learn good practices in marketing and entrepreneurship. Kids Market Day run by the kids and for the kids is a valuable creative and learning experience for both kids and parents allowing them not only to sell but to exhange ideas on the nutritional value of the foods they grow and sell.
The children welcomed friends and visitors from the community including officials from the Pre-school Education Bureau all of whom participated with much enthusiasm. The event gave the visitors the opportunity to hear their stories on the rising cost of living and how home gardening can help a little bit to bridge the current financial challenges.
