The project “Provide heathy water and food for 5953 children” aims to carry out drilling and produce vegetable through agroecological practices in 11 primary schools in rural area. Il is an opportunity to allow 5953 pupils to have drinking water and healthy lunches.
The project is currently being implemented in four schools : The schools in the villages of Yombo, Sékia-Dalet, Nzilla and M’Poko Bac.
The schools in the villages of Yombo, Sékia-Dalet, Nzilla and M’Poko Bac have stopped production in may 2024 due to school holidays. They will restart production in September 2024.
The schools in the villages of Yombo and Sékia-Dalet Dalet organized the "Vegetable Salad Day" in April 2024. During this day, the pupils ate vegetable salad, enriched with eggs, accompanied by bread.
The school of Sékia Dalet has layout the water drilling.
The Schools sell water at a lower cost to people in their village. The water income is used to maintain the water borehole and to buy vegetable seeds.
AFDD teams have identified land in a new school (school of Yamboro's village) for drilling and agroecology next year
