This project will provide 30 poor and vulnerable children with free lunch and aftercare for 1 year so their parents can work to keep a roof over their heads knowing their children are kept safe rather than left to roam the streets.
Kunduchi is a very low-income fishing village where many of the families live from hand to mouth and work hard to provide for the basic needs of their family. COVID-19 has led to increased unemployment and hardship. Many of the children are left unattended, roaming the streets while their parents desperately try to earn a living. Our Aftercare facility enables the parents to work and have the peace of mind that their children are kept safe and being well looked after.
help2kids provides a nutritious meal for lunch meaning the kids are guaranteed a good meal even if their parents aren't able to earn enough money on a given day. We keep the children safe and provide a range of outdoor activities or arts and crafts as well as fun and engaging education. All of the children get access to free First Aid and medical care and treatment including optical and dental care ensuring the kids are healthy.
The project will ensure local families are able to focus on earning a better living for themselves, helping them rise out of poverty, which will provide for their families' education, health and well-being. Healthy, well-educated children are significantly more likely to get better jobs in the future, be better equipped to raise their own families and benefit their local community's economy.
