Summary

WHO report,around 10% of the population of Bangladesh have different types of physical disabilities. However, lack of adequate medical facilities and often poor diagnosis of diseases by rural doctors put the lives of the children with physical or mental disabilities at risks.The treatment and rehabilitation programs for the people with disabilities can be extended and expanded through creating awareness.So we are thinking for opening aTherapy center in Bakergonj on an urgent basis to serve peope

Challenge

Natural disasters, economic hardship and lack of medical infrastructure have left the people of Southern areas of Bangladeshi with limited access to healthcare and no access to physical therapy. Physically demanding lives and lack of healthcare lead to many orthopedic and neurological injuries that keep people from working, feeding their families, and community participation. Despite these injuries being amenable to physical therapy, lack of access perpetuates this cycle of pain and poverty.

Solution

BGF currently provides physical therapy and medical services to the people of southern areas.By hiring trained local therapists and nurses, BGF will be able to provide physical therapy, primary medical care,and healthcare education to the community on a consistent basis. Training Bangladeshi clinicians will ensure that the clinic is sustainable and culturally informed,allowing access to quality healthcare year-round to facilitate clinical examinations and free treatment of the Coastal people.

Long-Term Impact

BGF run,year-round clinic will allow the people of area to have their injuries, pain,paralyzed and impaired movements addressed and treated in a timely manner.Additionally, BGF trained nurses will address chronic concerns such as high blood pressure, uncontrolled blood sugar,dehydration.This approach will decrease preventable diseases, improve overall health and economic growth as people are able to return to work. The program will also contribute towards improving the overall quality of life.
