Providing new school supplies to homeless school-aged children in Manila through EduKit Project..
![]()
Being equipped with the proper tools for school is necessary to academic success. However, for many homeless school-aged children living in the streets in Metro Manila, education has taken a backseat due to greater family needs such as food and utilities.
Fortunately, Childhope Philippines recognizes that in order to break the cycle of poverty and hunger, children must be prepared to learn and succeed in school. Additionally, statistics show that children tend to learn and retain more information if they perceive themselves to be on a level playing field with other children. Children that are academically prepared have higher self-confidence, self-worth and pride, which in turn, results in better grades.
Under the Street Education and Protection Program, the EduKit Project serves its street children beneficiaries whose families are unable to acquire needed school supplies. Each year, Childhope Philippines collects or purchases new back-packs, pencils, notebooks, pens, paper, rulers and other supplies for distribution. These street children will receive school supplies directly from Childhope on June 15, 2019.
WHAT WE DO:
Our EduKit Project is dedicated to providing those in need of school supplies with the tools necessary to be successful in the classroom. Through sponsorship, we can provide pre-assembled backpacks filled with essential school supplies for our street children beneficiaries.
There are two ways to support EduKit Project, (1) If you wish to donate new school supplies or bulk, you can deliver supplies to Childhope Philippines Headquarters (1210 Penafrancia Extension, Brgy. 827, Paco, Manila), (2) or make a monetary donation to Childhope Philippines and designate "EduKit Project".
