MANILA, Philippines – A project aimed at empowering street youth in Manila has successfully provided training and skills development to a total of 14 participants. Project Bamboo, implemented by the Manila Manpower Development Center (MMDC), offered a series of courses on food and beverage service, livelihood skills, entrepreneurship, values formation, and employability enhancement.

The project's food and beverage service training covered topics such as table setting, napkin folding, and cocktail mixing. Participants also received hands-on training in food preparation and service.

In addition to the food and beverage service training, Project Bamboo also offered livelihood training in the production of sweet delicacies and processed meat products. Participants learned how to make popular Filipino dishes such as sapin-sapin and puto pao, as well as skinless longganisa and chicken nuggets.

The entrepreneurship training provided participants with the knowledge and skills they need to start their own businesses. Participants learned about business management, marketing, and financial management.

The values formation training focused on developing participants' personal and social values. Participants learned about the importance of humility, respect, and responsibility.

The employability enhancement training focused on helping participants develop the skills they need to get a job. Participants learned about interview skills, resume writing, and personal grooming.

The project culminated in a graduation ceremony held at Adamson SV Hall. Eleven of the 14 participants attended the ceremony, along with their families, staff, and volunteers.
