Childhope Philippines Celebrates Recognition Day for 89 Students: Honoring the Academic Achievement of the Children.
"Hindi lang po ako, hindi lang kami, kundi tayo."
MANILA HIGH SCHOOL, JUNE 30, 2024- Childhope Philippines recently held a heartfelt Recognition Day ceremony to celebrate the accomplishments of 89 deserving students who have overcome adversity and excelled in their academic pursuits. The event, filled with hope and gratitude, underscored the organization's commitment to empowering marginalized youth through education and community support.
The ceremony commenced with an uplifting opening message by Childhope PH’s Executive Director proudly went up on stage to congratulate all graduates and awardees for their remarkable academic excellence, setting a reflective atmosphere and invoking blessings for the students and their futures. Dr. Carpio also expressed his gratitude towards the donors and sponsors, who have played a crucial role in improving the lives of Childhope beneficiaries and were also acknowledged for their support. Their assistance was highlighted as a catalyst for positive change in the lives of the children in street situations. Dr. Carpio's words underscored his deep concern for the children and emphasized the ongoing significance of providing them with support.
Following the Inspirational message of Ricky, a distinguished graduate of Bachelor of Science in Criminology, delivered a speech, motivating the students with the help of God’s love and reminding them of the importance of gratitude, giving back, and never forgetting the people who supported them. Ricky shared his personal journey of resilience, highlighting how education and determination enabled him to achieve his dreams despite obstacles. His message of hope and perseverance deeply inspired the students, encouraging them to pursue their aspirations with unwavering dedication. As he shared an inspirational message, he was given a certificate of appreciation handed out by Dr. Carpio and Ms. Lagman.
CELEBRATING ACHIEVEMENT: AWARDING OF CERTIFICATES AND GIVING GIFTS
A pivotal moment of the event was the heartfelt ceremony of awarding certificates to the 89 students in recognition of their academic achievements. The handing out of certificates were led by Dr. Herbert Carpio and Atty. Samantha Gonzales. Each student walked across the stage with pride, cheered on by peers, mentors, and families, as they received their well-deserved certificates. Alongside the certificates, slippers, school supplies, school bag, loot bag, and groceries were given to the students as presents to commemorate their hard work and success.
VOICES OF THE SENIOR HIGH GRADUATES
The celebration continued with touching messages from the Senior High graduates, who shared their personal journeys, challenges, triumphs, and messages to their fellow students. Their stories resonated deeply, showcasing the transformative impact of education and mentorship provided by Childhope PH. Their voices served as a testament to resilience and hope, inspiring all present to believe in the power of education to change lives.
APPRECIATION TO THE GENEROUS SPONSORS
Childhope Philippines expressed profound gratitude to the sponsors whose generous support made the Recognition Day possible. Atty. Gonzales was called on stage to be given a certificate of appreciation for their support for the beneficiaries of Childhope Philippines. Although not present, the generosity of the following sponsors were still recognized as they also made a significant contribution to the event: Citibank NA for the loot bags, and Manila High School for allowing us to use their school as venue. Their contributions have made a significant difference in the lives of these students, providing them with opportunities to thrive and succeed.
In her closing remarks, Ms. Lagman, Deputy Executive Director and KAP Coordinator, emphasized the organization's unwavering commitment to empowering marginalized youth and creating pathways to brighter futures. Her heartwarming speech filled with gratitude and congratulations for everyone involved. She expressed her heartfelt thanks to all the individuals who contributed to the success of the event. She acknowledged the essential role played by the sponsors, students, parents, street educators, social workers, staff, and interns, recognizing that their collective efforts made the day truly special and memorable.
Looking ahead, Childhope Philippines remains steadfast in its mission to empower marginalized youth through education, mentorship, and community support. The Recognition Day celebration serves as a powerful reminder of the transformative impact of investing in youth and providing them with the tools and opportunities they need to build brighter futures.
