OUR VOCATIONAL SKILLS PROGRAM Most of the youths in Eastern Uganda are not absorbed in the formal employment sector because they lack the required academic credentials. Vocational skills program is the better alternative for young people to find an occupation,skills for selfreliance. Teachers still use traditional tools for vocational training programs. But computer-aided, hybrid, advanced tools are becoming famous. They are good for teaching and managing real-time industrial needs worldwide.
This cycle of poverty is unacceptable, it is our mission to empower the youth to bring positive change to this situation. A vocational training centre will provide the youth with skills in carpentry, tailoring and business, to give them an entry point into the competitive employment market in Uganda. The project will train students to both produce and distribute goods, giving them the skill set required to be competitive, successful. This initiative will build the capacity of OVCs our community
The initiative is in line with Vision 2040 of the Ugandan Government that sets out the importance of strengthening the fundamentals of the economy to exploit the abundant opportunities around the country. The project also falls in line with Sustainable Development Goals of ''No Poverty'' and ''Zero Hunger. Train the trainer. Each successful beneficiary who graduates becomes a model youth. Each model youth form another group of ten beneficiaries called Neighbor Groups (NGs).
End Results. Upon successful completion, the project will reach 240 youth (Direct beneficiaries) and 2400 Indirect beneficiaries making a sum total of 2640 beneficiaries in a one year time. A team of field staff will be in charge of monitoring the progress made. Tools provided. The start-up tools, kits are given to beneficiaries during the graduation stage to help them cascade practical training and knowledge.Tailoring and garment cutting, Hairdressing, Motorcycle repairs.
