Empowering Our Team with Leadership Skills!

Last month, all YUM Kalimantan staff, including our trainers at the YUM VTC Kalimantan, participated in a Leadership Workshop conducted by Ms. Diena Haryana, life coach and founder of Sejiwa Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting children both offline and online. She has also developed and delivered numerous capacity-building programs for parents, teachers, and communities.

For two consecutive days, our staff learned about the meaning of leadership and how to apply it in real-life situations, especially at work. This workshop helped participants improve their ability to collaborate with others through effective communication styles. It was delivered through various methods, such as group work, role-plays, feedback sessions, and brainstorming activities. It allowed our staff to engage more openly with one another. The goal of this activity is to prepare our staff and teachers to start delivering Life Skills workshops to the youth and youth students living in Bukit Batu, Central Kalimantan.

Let’s hear what Ms.Stefanie, our English trainer, shared about the workshop:

“I had so much fun during the workshop. There were many practical activities that we practiced over the last two days. We became more aware of our own values and learned various ways to communicate. It is really useful for me because, as a trainer, I meet many people from different backgrounds and characters.

As we are approaching the end of 2025, we would like to wish you happy holidays! As the year ends, we would like to ask you for one final donation in 2025 towards this project. Any gift, big or small, will help us continue our work. From all of us at Yayasan Usaha Mulia, thank you again and we wish you a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
